Why do you give to Delta Tau Delta?
In the midst of a tumultuous year, over 6,200 alumni, undergraduates, and parents chose to make a gift to the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation last fiscal year. We couldn’t be more proud of the vote of confidence donors placed in the work of the foundation.
As a result, we sent out a simple email in July asking why our donors choose to support us. The response has been overwhelming, with stories pouring in from Delts of all ages and geographic locations. We will highlight responses throughout the year. Here are a few that summed up why we do what we do:
There are three simple reasons why I support the work of the Delt Foundation. First, I took an oath when I was initiated and promised to help contribute to the strength of Delta Tau Delta, and this is a small way to help. Second, the focus of the fraternity must remain on the undergrads, and the Foundation does a wonderful job of providing services to our student brothers. Third, being a Delt has been tremendously rewarding for me over the past 30 plus years, by staying close to my Tau Delt brothers, and by interacting with new generations of undergrads, and supporting the Foundation is one way to repay.

I started giving to the Annual DeltFund my freshman year three years ago. I'll admit, at the time I didn't think much about it - I did it because everyone else was and I got a brick at the Central Office. Now, however, I realize its importance. As an alumnus, I now recognize the benefits of Delta Tau Delta and what I learned from her during my undergraduate years. I am therefore obligated to give back and ensure that others share the same experience that I had - giving to the DeltFund is the absolute least I could do.
Kirk Morales, Arizona State, 2008
I give to Delta Tau Delta because they have given me more in the past than I can ever repay. They have given me friends that I still socialize with 20 years later. They have given me a sense of unity and ownership. Last but not least they have given me a reason to give financially to an organization that is honest and will do the same thing for someone else.

You likely have a story of your own as to why you still care about Delta Tau Delta. We hope that you will share it with us if you haven’t already, by emailing Todd at todd.bolster@delts.net. Our mission as a Foundation is simple: to offer funding to make possible the programs and educational needs of the Fraternity.
